クロモドーリス・アフリカーナ Chromodoris africana Eliot, 1904

特徴

体地色は黒色。背面には 2 本の白色縦線が走り、外套膜縁は内側を白色、外側を橙色の二重の縁取りで縁取られる。触角と二次鰓は黄色から橙色を呈し、本種を特徴付ける配色を作る。インド太平洋に広く分布する Chromodoris quadricolor や C. magnifica と外形が似るが、外套膜縁の橙色帯と縦線本数で区別される。

分布

紅海、西インド洋に分布する。模式産地はザンジバル (タンザニア)。

種小名の由来

種小名 africana はラテン語で「アフリカの」を意味し、模式産地の東アフリカ沿岸に因む。

補足

原記載は当初 Chromodoris elisabethina var. africana Eliot, 1904 として Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London "On some nudibranchs from East Africa and Zanzibar, part IV" に発表され、のちに独立種に昇格した。
