パンダツノウミウシ Trapania naeva Gosliner & Fahey, 2008
特徴
体長5〜7mm。体形は細長く凸型で、明瞭な外套膜の縁を欠き、鰓部でわずかに幅広くなる。頭部前縁は丸く、前足の縁は細長い触角に伸びる。口触手は短く円筒形で湾曲した先端をもつ。触角は比較的短く12〜14枚の褶葉をもち、触角の先端は単に丸く、突起を欠く。背側突起は比較的短く湾曲した先端をもち、鰓側突起はほぼ直立して頑丈。鰓は3本の三羽枝からなる。体地色は白色でほぼ透明。背面側方には黒色の大きな斑が左右ほぼ対称に並び、前足前面にも1つの斑がある。前足触角は白色。口触手は濃褐色または黒色。背側突起と鰓側突起も口触手と同じ濃褐色または黒色だが、鰓側突起の基部は白色。触角と鰓葉は濃褐色または黒色。
分布
インドネシア、フィジー、タンザニア、ケニア、Rodrigues 島、Reunion、モルディブ、北西オーストラリア、慶良間諸島 (模式産地：Zamami Island)。種小名の由来
原記載 (Gosliner & Fahey, 2008, p.86) の Etymology 段落は次の通り — "The specific name naeva is from the Latin word meaning 'mole' or 'birthmark' to describe the large blotches of black pigment on the dorsum of this species." 種小名 naeva はラテン語の「ほくろ (mole)」「母斑 (birthmark)」に由来し、背面に並ぶ黒色の大斑を表す。補足
本種は 2008 年の Halgerda 改訂 Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society 152: 53-111 でインド太平洋産 Trapania 16 新種の一つとして記載された。原記載 Remarks では、本種は香港産 T. darvelli に外見が最も類似するものの、体表に大きな黒斑をもつ点で明確に異なる。T. japonica や T. goslineri にも黒色大斑をもつ種があるが、T. japonica は鰓側突起が鮮黄色、T. goslineri は黒条線も伴う点で区別される。本種と T. circinata は触角先端に突起をもたず単に丸い、Trapania 中で2種のみに知られる形質をもつ (p.88)。References
