ゴニオブランクス・オールデリ Goniobranchus alderi (Collingwood, 1881)

特徴

体長 5 cm 程度 (原記載の「2 inches」) のイロウミウシ科の一種。体地色は不透明な黄色がかった白色 (クリーム色)。外套膜の周縁および腹足の側方に突き出た部分の全周にわたって明るいオレンジ色の線が走る。背面には赤褐色のマーブル状の斑紋が美しく広がり、マーブル部分と外套膜縁のオレンジ線とのあいだには赤色 (カルミン色) の不規則な斑列が並ぶ。触角は紅色と白色の褶葉が交互に並ぶ。二次鰓は 10 枚程度の単純な四稜形の小葉からなり、いくつかは先端近くで二又に分かれ、肛門を囲んで不完全な円を成して外側に湾曲する。鰓の地色は赤褐色で、稜が紅色 (カルミン色) を呈する。

分布

模式産地は北部台湾の基隆港 (キールン港、Ke-lung Harbour)。原記載では同地以外の記録は知られていない。

種小名の由来

種小名 alderi は英国の博物学者ジョシュア・オールダー (Joshua Alder, 1792-1867) への献名。オールダーはオルバニー・ハンコック (Albany Hancock) との共著で英国産後鰓類のモノグラフを著したことで知られる。
