ヤポナクテオン・ストゥラリス Japonactaeon suturalis (A. Adams, 1855)

特徴

小型のオオシイノミガイ類で、円筒卵形の殻をもつ。螺塔は高く、各層の側面は平らで上縁が角ばり、縫合は深く溝状に陥入する。この縫合の特徴が、近縁の Solidula 属各種と本種を分ける主要な識別形質である。殻は白色で、しばしば灰色がかった斑模様を帯び、縦走条と横走の盛り上がった条によって格子状に刻まれる。軸唇には二裂した 1 本の襞があり、Solidula の多くの種に見られる後方結節を欠く。

分布

西太平洋。模式産地はフィリピン・ルソン島の砂泥底。

種小名の由来

種小名 suturalis はラテン語の sutura (縫い目、縫合) に由来し、各層間の深く溝状に陥入する縫合という本種の特徴的形質にちなむ。

補足

A. アダムスがキューミングコレクションの新種を含めて記載した「Acteon と Solidula 2 属のモノグラフ」(ロンドン動物学会会報、1853 年論文、1855 年刊行) で Solidula suturalis として記載された。Buccinulus suturalis A. Adams, 1854 名も WoRMS では同種扱いだが、現在の有効な著者・年は 1855 年が採用されている。
