ジャノメオトメウミウシ Dermatobranchus oculus Gosliner & Fahey, 2011

特徴

体長7〜8mm。体は細長く後方が細くなる。背面には縦走稜が並び、口幕は前方に張り出して角は鈍く伸びる。広く離れた触角は口幕の後ろにあり、縦褶葉をもち、柄は細くならない。
背面と足の地色は不透明白。背側稜の間の凹部は淡灰色。背面には暗色中心の眼状斑が等間隔に並び、ピンク色の色素に縁取られる。触角の柄は白、黒。口幕は不透明白で淡灰色の縁取り。

分布

沖縄のみ（模式産地：Tengan Pier, Ishikawa City, Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, Japan, 13 m）。

種小名の由来

原記載 (Gosliner & Fahey, 2011, p.319) の Etymology 段落は次の通り — "The specific name oculus is from the Latin word meaning 'eye' or 'bud' referring to the evenly spaced oscillated spots on the dorsum." 種小名 oculus はラテン語で「目」または「芽」を意味し、背面に等間隔に並ぶ眼状斑にちなむ。

補足

背面の眼状斑（ジャノメ＝蛇の目模様）にちなむ和名。
