ヒュプセロドーリス・バーチイ Hypselodoris bertschi Gosliner & R. F. Johnson, 1999

特徴

体長 10〜35 mm の小〜中型のアオウミウシ属。生体は半透明の白色で、外套膜には 4〜7 本の縦列に並ぶ伸長した紫色の短いダッシュ模様が走る。これらのダッシュの間には不透明な白色の細い縦線がうっすらと見える。外套膜縁には橙色の縁帯が走り、腹足の縁には紫色の縁帯がある。触角は白色で中央に橙色の正中帯が 1 本走る。触角の直後には半透明の明色域があり、眼が透けて見える。鰓葉は 9 葉の単羽状で白色、鰓軸が橙色。

分布

ハワイ諸島のカウアイ島、オアフ島、マウイ島、ハワイ島から知られる中部太平洋固有種。模式産地はカウアイ島の Ahukini Reef (水深 10 m)。

種小名の由来

種小名 bertschi は Hans Bertsch 博士への献名。Bertsch 博士はハワイ諸島産種を中心とするクロモドーリス類の研究を大きく前進させた研究者で、1999 年の改訂で献名された。

補足

外套膜に紫色のダッシュ列と橙色の縁帯をもつ独特の色彩で、外套膜縁が紫色帯となる近縁の Hypselodoris rudmani とは外見的に区別される。
